Filming on Sherlock Series Three is about to enter an important stage.
Sue Vertue, producer on the series, has sent us the following statement:
Hi, Sue Vertue here.
As many of you are aware, we’ll soon be embarking on our first London leg of filming for series 3. I’m also aware that there is quite a lot of speculation about where we’re shooting when. I can’t stress how much we the Producers and Benedict, Martin and the rest of the cast appreciate your love and dedication to our show - we’ll endeavour to live up to your expectations for Series 3.
What I am nervous about is that our London shooting schedule is punishing and will really give us very little time to interact with you. The actors really hope you understand that.
Also, and I know this is probably asking a lot, the majority of fans and indeed ourselves would REALLY appreciate it if you didn’t post pictures or spoilers or ideally our daily locations.
Star Trek Into Darkness – IMAX Prologue Impressions
Playing in select IMAX cinemas around the world, seeing the first nine minutes of the next Star Trek movie are the very definition of a teaser, and perhaps the most effective trailer you can imagine for the film.
Benedict Cumberbatch hits London in the first poster for Star Trek Into Darkness
The first teaser poster for Star Trek Into Darkness is here - and Benedict Cumberbatch’s unnamed villain is front and centre, standing before the burning cityscape of a futuristic London - mixed into the large number of science fiction skyscrapers are existing iconic landmarks including The London Eye and The Gherkin.
The Games, Mrs. Hudson, are on! Exercise your mind and celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games Sherlock style. We have 10 London 2012 Black Taxi die-cast model replicas to give away which have been kindly provided by British toy and model company Hornby. The famous ‘black cab’ is universally recognised as a symbol of London and is Sherlock and John’s transport of choice.
For your chance to win one of these London 2012 Great British Classic Limited Edition black taxis, all you need to do is help Sherlock manoeuvre his way through the traffic jams so he can continue on to the Olympic Stadium.
The competition is free to enter and open worldwide. You only need enter once - multiple entries will not be counted - but you can play as many times as you like. Competition closes 09/09/2012. The 10 lucky winners will be picked at random from the entries and announced on 15/09/2012.
To celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games, Mayor of London Presents has created a series of discovery trails featuring the Olympic mascots decorated as various London landmarks and characters, one being of particular interest to us; Sherlock Wenlock.
To locate Sherlock, the below map may help you deduce his location…
N.B. We’ve noticed there’s a competition to win an entire collection of mascot figurines daily when you tweet a photo of you with any of the discovery trail mascots, along with the hashtag #MyMascot. If you find Sherlock on the trail and want to share pictures of him, there could thus be a nice little bonus!
Sherlockology is walking the 2011 London Night Hike in aid of Maggie’s Centres
“I would implore you to fund the work that Maggie’s Centres do around the country. The work that they do is extraordinary and it is a beautiful, beautiful idea. The centres are a sanctuary, a place of calm, reflection and help for people who are suffering from cancer.” – Benedict Cumberbatch
Last year’s London Night Hike was attended by the star of the BBC drama Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch, who is a supporter of Maggie’s.
So, last night we thought would be a low key, non-Sherlock related evening for Team Sherlockology. Not that going to see Derren Brown’s Svengali show could ever be considered low key in itself, but a night off from Sherlockology work related pursuits certainly. As ever, how wrong we were.
