SDCC 2012: Jonny Lee Miller on talking to Benedict Cumberbatch about Sherlock Holmes

Taken from TV Guide’s summary of the Elementary panel at Comic Con last night, Jonny Lee Miller briefly spoke about a conversation he had with Benedict Cumberbatch on differentiating his interpretation of Holmes from that in BBC Sherlock:
Miller acknowledged that the two talked about their similar projects, but declined to divulge exactly what was said. “We wanted to be sure that it was going to be very different, so that was the conversation that we had,” Miller said. “He’s been very, very supportive actually. We just discussed what a wonderful character it is.”

STEVEN MOFFAT ATTENDING COMIC CON WITH DOCTOR WHO

Just revealed on the San Diego Comic Con website is Sunday’s scheduling, and in addition to Martin Freeman’s appearance for The Hobbit on Saturday July 14, there’s another Sherlock related treat at the world famous event. Doctor Who is taking over the gigantic Hall H in the middle of the Con’s final day on Sunday July 15! Cast and Crew are due to be in attendance, including Steven Moffat himself.

The Doctor and the Ponds land in San Diego. BBC America’s Doctor Who stars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill join award-winning lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat (Sherlock) and award-winning executive producer Caroline Skinner (The Fades) for a Comic-Con panel and Q&A. As fans eagerly await the new season’s premiere, BBC America is making sure Steven Moffat brings new footage to reveal on the big screens in Hall H. Warner Bros. today announced what has been suspected and rumored: the studio is bringing “The Hobbit,” to the San Diego Comic-Con in a big way. Most surprising is just how big as director Peter Jackson, producer and co-screenwriter Phillipa Boyens, actor and director Andy Serkis along with featured actors Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Richard Armitage are all expected at the Saturday, July 14 Comic-Con panel in Hall H hosted by Warner Bros.

Timings have now been revealed for The Hobbit panel. It forms the third and final part of the Warner Bros presentation in Hall H on Saturday July 14, beginning at 14:30PDT and scheduled to finish at 17:00PDT. The Hobbit panel follows the panels for Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’ and the new Superman film ‘The Man of Steel’, so to see The Hobbit panel, you have to attend the entire Warners Bros panel. Due to the ‘world’s first premiere footage’ from all three films, this is widely expected to be one of the most popular panels of the entire four days of Comic Con - be there early for a chance to get in!
