MORE OF IRENE ADLER’S BEAUTY SECRETS: THE EYELINER
Since our last feature yesterday on Irene Adler’s Beauty Secrets, we have had a lot of requests for the stunning aquamarine eyeliner she wears in ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’. So, we went away and found out the details for you…
The Sherlock Art Department has confirmed to us that the eyeliner is Liquidlast Eyeliner in Aqualine by MAC.
Originally priced at £15.00/$18.50, unfortunately this item has been discontinued by MAC. The good news is however, currently eBay sellers in the US have it available to purchase at varying prices and are able to ship it worldwide.
IRENE “THE WOMAN” ADLER’S BEAUTY SECRETS
We’ve just noticed a real bargain on Irene Adler’s perfume Casmir 100ml Eau de Parfum Spray by Chopard and thought this would be a great time to list her beauty product secrets.
Irene’s perfume is said to ‘capture the charm and mystery of the Orient in a beautiful, exotic perfume’, so it’s no surprise why it is her intoxicating fragrance of choice.
Currently this perfume is almost half price at £27.99 HERE
Irene’s glamourous “blood” red nail polish to match her lipstick is by the cosmetics company Jessica, in the ‘222 Winter Berries’ shade.
It is no longer available directly from the manufacturer so stocks are now very limited, but is still available at the reduced price of £8.79 HERE
Actually described by Illamasqua as a Classic Brick rather than “Blood” red, this matt finish lipstick appropriately named ‘Encounter’, Irene dons before going into battle with Sherlock for the first time in ‘A Scandal in Belgravia’.
Although pricey at £15.00, we can personally highly recommend it, as once applied it will stay on all night! You can purchase it direct from Illamasqua HERE
And lastly, as featured again on Irene’s dressing table is a stunning looking Borghese Superiore State Of The Art Mascara case, containing black mascara. However, we were told by the Sherlock team that the waterproof version - in a slightly different case that lacks the gold trim - was in fact applied instead to Lara Pulver for the purposes of filming.
As a US brand, both versions are priced at $19.50 - the waterproof version is available HERE and the regular version is available HERE
UPDATE: By request, we have added a further post on Irene’s aquamarine liquid eyeliner HERE

SHERLOCK: A SCANDAL IN BELGRAVIA FRENCH PREMIERE WITH STEVEN MOFFAT
We are extremely pleased to bring you a report on the French premiere of Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia that took place last week in Paris, that was attended by Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue. We are hugely indebted to our friends at BBC Sherlock France for bringing us this piece. You can read their original report in French here, with more of their photos from the event.
On Friday January 31 2012, at very short notice, we found ourselves attending a superb, funny and informative talk and demonstration of the creation of the music of Sherlock Series Two by Michael Price, one half of the series’ composing duo alongside David Arnold. It’s perhaps fair to say that the post production of any media, be it film, music or television, is dramatically less glamorous compared to the actual filming and performing of what you see onscreen, but it is without doubt the true nuts and bolts stage of the final product, and often can make or break any production – a sterling performance by an actor can be lost if subject to a bad film or video editor for example.
The ultimate guide for any BBC Sherlock fan! Packed with News and Info on Characters, Cast & Crew, Locations, Episodes, Props, Wardrobe, Downloads and more!
